First unveiled on the 1st September 2016, the all ŠKODA KODIAQ has been highly anticipated, as this is ŠKODA's first SUV and first model available as a Seven-Seater. There are plenty of other firsts with a range of new technology and specification available.
The ŠKODA KODIAQ reimagines what is possible with an SUV. An impressive combination of powerful design, generous space, great functionality, state-of-the art assistance systems and innovative connectivity solutions means the everyday journeys will never feel quite the same again.
As ŠKODA’s first car to offer seven seats, thanks to its optional third row, the ŠKODA KODIAQ can adapt to suit your needs. Its sturdily-built exterior stresses its impressive off-road capabilities, while an unparalleled 2,065 litres of storage space (with the rear seats folded down) makes it an ideal companion for larger families.
Every ŠKODA model name has a surprising story behind it and the KODIAQ is no different. The name derives from the Kodiak bears, which live on the island of the same name off the southern coast of Alaska.
The exterior design of the ŠKODA KODIAQ reflects the brand’s new emotional appeal, with a combination of strength, elegance and versatility. All the edges and lines are clear, precise and sharp, while crystalline design elements accentuate the exterior. The interplay of light and shadow creates powerful effects on the strikingly chiselled surfaces.

and the two double-headlights feature a crystalline structure which is
inspired by the traditions Czech cystal glass art. LEDs are fitted as
standard in the C-shaped rear light clusters that have become

character of ŠKODA’s KODIAQ with sharp tornado line spanning the entire
length of the powerful car body. Angular wheel arches emphasise the
off-road character and the upper-shoulder contour forms a deep groove
over the sills. The quickly sloping roofline with the long spoiler and
tapered rear visually accelerate the show car even when stationary.

designed with a strong diffuser insert bordering the large exhaust
pipes, giving the large SUV a visually powerful stance. The ŠKODA logo
and shallow rear lights with dynamically cut crystalline housings sit
just beneath the low rear window, while ŠKODA’s characteristic C-arm,
beginning at the rear lights, runs into the flat reflectors in the
A choice of 14 paint finishes are available, consisting of four standard and ten metallic colours. The appearance of the exterior components and features vary according to the three trim leves; S, SE and SE L.
The dashboard is divided into two symmetrical zones for driver and passenger. ŠKODA has also made the most of the interior space afforded by the car's
external dimensions. The steering wheel is available in a choice of
different versions, including heated and the optional tri-zone climate
control has its own control panel for rear seat passengers. The front
seats can be heated, ventilated and adjusted electronically, with memory
function as an optional extra.
The ŠKODA KODIAQ is ŠKODA’s first 7-seater vehicle, which is
available on the SE series model and over. Passengers are given plenty of space
to get in and out too, with adjustable second row seats as standard, and
backrests that can be moved backwards and forwards by 18 cm, guaranteeing ample
interior variability for both the 5- and 7-seat layouts. In its standard
configuration, second-row passengers receive 1,014 mm headroom and up to 104 mm
legroom. Each backrest can be individually adjusted and can be folded with a
The KODIAQ is just 40mm longer than the ŠKODA Octavia, but offers a larger-than-average interior for the SUV segment. Available as a five or seven-seater, the KODIAQ offers boot space of 720 litres (five-seater with rear seats up), which can be increased to a cavernous 2,065 litres (five-seater with rear seats folded).
All of the KODIAQ models come loaded with technology available as both standard and optional extras. Whether you need to be kept in touch on the move, be your navigator, play your favourite music or help you park, the ŠKODA KODIAQ comes with features that can enhance every journey.
Designed with the driver in mind, the ŠKODA KODIAQ delivers
exceptional comfort, making each journey enjoyable and relaxed. An array
of design features allows you to customise the car’s behaviour to fit
your personal preferences, including technology such as Driver Mode
select, for optimum driving experience for you and your passengers.
Other technology such as Care Connect, SmartLink, Bluetooth, Radio Swing with 6.5" display, and DAB come as standard and further up the series, the Kodiaq also offers columbus satellite navigation, with 8" touchscreen, USB and connectivity.
As for comfort, the KODIAQ 'S' has air conditioning, dual-zone
climate control with humidity sensor/control, rear parking sensors,
light and rain sensors and electromechanical parking brake with hill
hold; perfect for those tricky inclines.
Safety technology also plays an important part; Front Assist with City Emergency Brake, which comes as standard, uses radar to detect dangerous situations involving pedestrians or other vehicles in front of the car. If necessary, the system warns the driver and applies the brakes partially or fully. City Emergency Brake is active up to 21 mph. The optional Predictive Pedestrian Protection complements Front Assist. Additional technology, such as Travel Assist with Traffic Sign Recognition, Trailer Assist, Driver Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) all contribute to help make your journeys safe and comfortable.
For safety in the event of an accident, Crew Protect Assist closes the windows and sunroof, and tensions the seat belts automatically. In addition, in an accident, the Multi-Collision Brake, which comes as standard, prevents any further uncontrolled movement of the KODIAQ.

Both diesel and petrol engines feature turbocharged direct injection
and are EU6 compliant. All feature Stop-Start systems, brake energy
recover and powerful thermo-management systems to reduce fuel
There are two versions of the Diesel engines available. The first version generates 110kW (150PS) and 340Nm, while the top-of-the-range version delivers 140kW (190PS) and 400 Nm. On average, the entry-level TDI uses 5.0 litres of diesel (56.5 mpg and 131g CO2/km) per 100km. The most powerful diesel engine can hit 62mph in 8.6 seconds from a standing start, accelerating to a top speed of 130mph.
The range of Petrol engines comprises two 1.4 TSI engines and one 2.0 TSI. The entry-level version of the compact four-cylinder generates 92kW (125PS) and 200Nm of torque. Consumption averages 6.0 litres per 100km, which corresponds to 47.1mpg and 140g CO2/km.
In the more powerful version, the 1.4-litre generates 110kW (150PS) and 250Nm of torque; it's Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) system shuts down the second and third cylinders when the load and engine speed are low. The top-of-the-range 2.0 TSI petrol engine features a new combustion process for high efficiency with power output of 132kW (180PS) and torque of 320Nm.
The ŠKODA KODIAQ can transport items up to 2.80m long, and optional extras can be added, such as the electrically operated tailgate. The ŠKODA KODIAQ with the TDI/DSG/4x4 drivetrain can tow a trailer weighing up to 2.5 tonnes with an electrically retractable tow bar.
The ŠKODA KODIAQ introduces a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, designed for high-performance engines with torque of up to 600Nm - a first for ŠKODA.
The entry-level diesel with all-wheel drive is offered with the manual six-speed transmission or the seven-speed DSG; the front-wheel-drive-version is offered solely with the seven-speed DSG. The entry-level TSI is available with manual six-speed transmission and front wheel drive.
The all-wheel drive system with electronic control is available for most engine variants. It delivers a big increase in traction, stability and driving safety - even off-road. The centrepiece of the all-wheel drive system is an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch which works quickly and intuitively. The control unit constantly calculates the ideal driving torque for the read axle, meaning lose of traction is virtually eliminated due to a control system that is dependant on driving status and when in overrun or at low load, drive is via the front axle, which saves fuel.
